The Incursion is Outcomes based for Science Life and Living. PREP presentations are Play and Enquiry based.

 Incursion Includes: MINIBEASTS: Charlotte, a North Queensland Rainforest Tarantula ( Arachnid ). Tiggy, a Tiger striped Australian Centipede ( Myriapod ). Tippy, a Juvenile Spiny Leaf Insect. Sco, A Flinders Ranges (SA) Scorpion ( Arachnid ). Twiggy, an Australian Goliath Stick Insect. A colony of thousands of HoneyBees (Insects ). POLLINATION: Fruit & Vegetables

COLONIES and SOCIAL STRUCTURES: Queen, Female Workers, Males, Communication, Navigation to and from Food Sources. LIFE CYCLES of various MINIBEASTS :- Butterflies, Moths, Wasps, Ants, Bees.

FROM FARM TO TABLE: How Honey is made by  Honeybees. Pollinating Fruit & Veges. Extracting Honey. Packaging, Labelling, Distribution. Honey Tasting. MIND YOUR BEESWAX: Candles, Polish, Cosmetics. WAGGLE DANCING: Why Honeybees perform this unusual activity.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Incursion is tailored to suit the age group of the Students depending on the Year Level, and are designed to be interactive and visual. PREP incursions are Play and Enquiry based.    Setup Requirements: Large Whiteboard (magnetic), 2 x Trestle type Tables, Ground Floor or Outdoor Setting, Vehicle Access to Unload/Load.
